ARTIST BIO
A retired “Doverite" native, I have always been involved learning some form of craft. I started at a young age doodling and then coloring in the picture I would find in the abstract doodles. In the fall of 1995, I began to pursue formal CLL art courses with Wendy Turner and Dorine Gross’s Introduction to Drawing, Introduction to Watercolor Painting I & II (twice), Art by the Sea; Advanced Watercolor III. During the same time period I attended UNH DCE classes each spring & Fall with Portsmouth Watercolorist Dan Britt, Carol Morley, Dover. N.H. I have attended weeklong workshops with Don Andrews, Jan Kilburn in Damariscotta, Maine, and for several years have gone to Monhegan Island with Doris Rice and Jan Kilburn.
In 2014, I participated in classes at Sanctuary Arts, with Dewitt Hardy. I have participated in watercolor classes with Doris Rice, Jan Kilburn, Dustan Knight; acrylic classes with Dennis Poirier, N Berwick ME, and serigraph screen print classes with Willliam Mitchell. For 30+ years I have successfully sold my small watercolor, acrylic, and serigraph paintings. My paintings hang in local, commercial, and international settings including England, Ireland, Scotland, France, India, and Australia.
Each Thursday, I paint with 12 other painters who paint in various mediums. It is a blessing to be a part of these diverse people’s art lives, who gather to encourage, support and enjoy each other’s good company while we all paint. Watching everyone’s works evolve is an awesome experience that cannot be put into words. Each week is such an adventure. It is a time that encourages all of us to remove ourselves from our busy lives and surrender ourselves to the painting process.
